Does the Septa Transpass have unlimited swipes? It may seem like a dumb question but I still can't figure it out.

Depends on what kind you buy.  

Monthly and Weekly have unlimited, I believe the Daypasses do as well.  There IS a lockout timer on them so that you cannot use the same one within 10 minutes of its last use (to prevent them being passed over).

1-Day Pass is only good for 8 trips for 1-day.

It will activate on day when you used.

7-Day Pass and Calender 31 Day passes are also same reason.

Bus drivers, cashier at Market-Frankford Line, and Trolley line will stamp the calender, day, # of trips.
