  1. In the last few centuries this has been a superstition, but in the times before Christ the dove (FYI a pigeon is a kind of grey dove) was the sacred

bird of Eros (aka Cupid) the god of love, and back then it meant you had Eros's blessing, it had evolved (mainly due to the spread of Christianity) that it is lucky rather then a blessing.

  2. Well, imagine if it was an elephant!

  3. It's good luck for the people who make laundry detergent.

  4. LOL I have two theories......one to make you feel better and two becuase of all the millions of people the bird 'chose' to hit you....yet in my mind that kind of makes you the unluckiest person....so probably to make you feel better.

    Did you feel any better?

  5. No idea where this thought of bird c**p as lucky originally comes from.....but once i was sat outside with my wallet open on a table and a pigeon flew over and crapped right in it.  A day or so later i got an unexpected tax refund for £300 :-) true story!

  6. They are?

  7. i think its luck if it hits you on your left shoulder, but your back? Erm... no, i don't think so ...  -_-

  8. Because the bird hit you and not them
