So, I've been summoned to jury duty tomorrow, woopty doo.... I've known one of the prosecuting attorneys at the courthouse for SEVERAL years, and in fact, he's been a family friend since I was born. My question is, since I know him, could I possibly not get the chance of serving on a jury? I've heard that the judge asks you if you know anybody so I'm not gonna lie

  1. Only if you are selected for a case your friend is handling.

  2. I find that very hard to believe. Not calling anyone anything but man would i hate to be in your district for prosecution.

  3. when you go to the desk where you sign in tell the clerk you know the attorney. She will take it from there. i was called to jury duty and knew all the cops on the case, but still didn't get excused. It was a double homicide with the stipulation of no death penalty, I told them I believed in the death penalty. But still went on.

Try is all you can do.
