Question:

A Possible Pregnancy?

I've been trying to do a lot of research so I could avoid doing this, but I'm just not pleased with what I've found.

My last period started between July 24-26, and ended July 31. Since the 31st, my partner and I have experienced three broken condoms. One being the week of the 4th and the other two (the same night) the week of the 11th. I should be getting my period next week sometime, I'm generally pretty regular, so I know I'm being a little pre-emptive about this. I would just like to know what my odds of being pregnant are due to these circumstances.

Of course, thank you very much for taking time out of your day to view and perhaps respond. I really appreciate it.

  1. If your condoms are continually breaking, then you need to use a larger size.

You can pregnancy test 7 days after a missed period. If you are a teen you will want to use two forms of contraceptives at the same time, like condoms and the pill, because of your increased fertility at this age and the chances of contraception failure. Planned Parenthood provides free, confidential help for teens and gives free contraceptive counseling to men and women of any age. Best wishes, G

  2. i did the math you should have ovulated on or around the 8th of aug.

you might be pretty safe to say you are not pregnant. but i would still get a home pregnancy test to take if you are late starting

  3. you always run the chance of being pregnant. from what I calculated I happened to think that you could have been ovulating that week. but we here dont really know for sure. so i would say if you missed your period, go ahead and take that test. oh and thank you for at least trying to be protected. and what is the brand of the condoms so i dont buy them...

  4. You need to invest in some better quality condoms, huh?!

It's totally impossible to predict the 'odds' - some couples fall pregnant from just one mistake, where others take years to conceive. You'll have to sit tight for a week or so before you will have any clear idea, although its obviously a real possibility...

  5. There's definitely a chance.  I just found out I'm pregnant and there were no broken condoms and no accidents.  So anything is possible.  And when I told my sister I was pregnant she said that was the same thing that happened to her.  So good luck!  There's definitely a chance.  Just wait to see if your period comes.  If it doesn't then take a test.

  6. Honey,

with broken condoms in the middle of cycle and a pretty regular cycle, your chances of getting pregnant is pretty high...i know friends who have gotten pregnant the very first time of having s*x...its not that rare.Again, its not just you who is the factor here. You can try one of those...5 days sooner first response kits.I would still not sweat over it and give it time till the period date and also may be a few more days coz periods can be delayed due to stress.Only time can tell...
