  1. Nope, Queen cant move like a knight. (up 2 over 1)

Queens can move in any direction

  2. You know this man!!!!

  3. The piece has several names depending on which variation is being played, but most commonly the piece is referred to as either the General or the Amazon.

  4. what?  A queen moves anywhere she wants, a knight only can move diagonally

  5. maha-raja

  6. an impossibility.

  7. It's called a Joker.

  8. a queen in chess that moves like a knight is none existent so you can't name it in any way cause it does not exist.

  9. first of all duck _foo is wrong the knight can only move in an L shape two spaces over three spaces up or any combination of the two. The queen cannot move anyway it wants only diagonal or up and down or sideways, A Queen cannot move the same way a knight does.

So to answer your question there is no such thing were a queen can move like a knight.

    Chess Grandmaster

  10. I don't know what is called, but technically it can happen....I think.  If a player gets all the way to the end with a pawn then wishes to gain a knight, but uses a queen piece.  That is how you would do it.  Why you would do it I don't know.

  11. They are two distinct pieces the knight is the only piece that can jump one of it's own pieces.  The queen can only move on straight lines.

  12. to rcm11, im pretty sure a chess grandmaster would know that the knight goes 2 spaces in one direction and 1 in another, not 3 and 2.

  13. A pawn can end up moving both like a queen and like a knight. An Uber queen may also be able to do so :).

  14. The queen does not move in the same capacity as the knight.  P.S. the knight is the piece that looks like a horse.
