  1. Good info in above two answers also when tending the flagstick make sure not to step on anyone in the foursomes line of putt, and don't have your shadow cross the line of the putt or the cup.  Don't speak unless spoken to.  Give a clear sign of a ball out of bounds when forecaddieing so they know to hit another ball, or a clear sign of "safe" if you know a ball headed OB is still in.

  2. I was a caddy for awhile at a very prestigious golf course.  They best thing I can tell you, be polite, and do not offer advice unless asked.  Also it is very important to be ready and stay infront of your golfer, get to the ball before him and have information ready for him such as yardage, wind, green slope, so get to know the course really well.  I am sure you will learn this in orientation.  Helpful tips,  Always have these in your pockets:  1. Extra tees, a little knife or small leatherman, 3. A pack of advil or tylenol, 4. 1 coin, 5. a small sharpie.     And, always carry a white towel with one end wet and the other dry.

  3. As a golfer and a former caddie:

    1) be quiet unless they ask you somehting

    2) if they ask for a read on the green, and you dont know...say i dont know, dont try to come up with something, its much better to not say anything than have them miss a putt on the wrong side of the whole because of your read

    3) watch all the balls - mark them with somehting in your line of site (a post, stick, tree, bunker, etc.)

    4) be waiting at their balls for them

    5) if you have 2 bags, and their shots are far apart, drop the bag of the guy closer to the green off at his ball and go to the shorter one, then make ur way back to the longer one (unless it is some guy topped it off the tee and the other is 300 yards out)

    6) have a rake in ur hands before they enter the bunker so they know u will rake it

    7) dont walk in their line between the hole and their ball on the green

    8) dont be afraid to hustle, not run, but hustle

    9) keep your towel wet so u can clean the clubs well
