A friend of mine bought an old 300SL MB with a 6.3 Liter engine that he's going to restore. He’s says it’s the largest engine MB ever put into one of their cars. I wouldn’t know it that’s true or not. But I’m curious as to how large an engine it is, cubic inch wise? Any of you guys know?

  1. here's the formula i use. i know a 5.0 in my old mustang was a 302. therefore, 302 divided by 5 equals 60. so a 6.3 would probably be a 378

hey, take a look at this. it says they had v-16's that were 6 liters!

  2. 300 sl should have a inline 6 cylinder good engine,and 3.0L.

  3. BRADLEY! I see you have that 8 Track with you again. He's no good I say. And you get your rear in here and shave my corns, right now buster. And bring me an extra large bucket of bon bons. When you are done with that, change the diaper on that nigerian brat, got it?

Excuse me Doc, I have to show tough love with my little beyotch, I am sure you know how it is.

  4. The 300SL never came with a V8.  You're probably referring to the 300SEL 6.3 ( 109.018 chassis ) with the M100 engine.  At that time it was the largest engine in any of the modern Benz vehicles but even that engine was enlarged to 6.9 litres when it was later used in the 450SEL ( 116.036 chassis )

  5. Wow, a 300SL MB, huh? Yeah, I like to work on my car in the dining room. I usually don't drop tools on too many of the rugrats. I like to get them all nice and clean so I can go cruising and get away from "you know who", it's always nice to get away from that scarecrow, I got to tell you , Doc.
