A Question About The Wii?

Right. For my birthday im asking for a Wii but i have absolutley no idea what i need - it's coming with the console, 1 wiimote, wii sports, sports play, rayman raving rabbids 2, and carnival games - do i need the sports set thing, and isit a good idea to get another wiimote and do i need a charging dock?? HELP!!

you need another wii remote and 2 nunchucks and if you are going to play it alot get a charging dock

You should get another wiimote with nunchuck to play two player games.  My family has four so everyone can play the party games.  BUT that isn't necessary.  No you don't need the sports thing -- it is just as much fun to play without it.. and you can.  

Our family opts for rechargeable AA batteries so that we can use them in other devices.

DO NOT GET THE SPORTS PACK!!

It is the worst waste of money you can possibly buy for the wii. It adds nothing to the game except making the remote look like a tennis racket.

It would be a good idea to get another remote.

You definitely need another wiimote, in my opinion. Most of the fun of games like wii sports comes from competing against another person.

The bundle is sufficient, however, you wil need more than one wiimote if you intend on playing with other people, I only have one and its fine, charging dock is probably a good idea but you will need either rechargeable batteries or better yet a battery pack which is also rechargable and use a simple £5.99 charging dock.  Theres noting worse when half way through  game you have to replace the batteries which you dont have.

The sports set is rubbish, in fact there have been complaints that it can restrict the infa red/wireless connection especially the lightsaber one.  The wii mote alone makes you movements more accurate and smooth.

Maybe you need some better games but wii sports will have you going for long time for something so simple and better games can be bought at any time.

To your updated question....yes you will need both, only some games give you the option of using both or just the wiimote such as mario kart where the wii mote alone is moved like a steering wheel, the steering wheel itself just makes handling a bit easier, but it is necssary in most cases to have both, they only sell them seperately becuase they want to get more money when you buy both, its not just so that incase one breaks you can replace it lol.

you wont really need anything else than what youre getting for now, no charging dock, definately not the sport set attachments things, they are just there to make it look like the game youre playing in wii sports
