Is it easier to build my own engine or use one that all ready exists? For example, Torque Game Builder.

  1. Well, you'll obviously get started a lot faster if you build on top of someone else's library. Chances are you'll get more features and better performance, too.

    Possible advantages of doing it yourself would include getting exactly the look that you want, and absolutely understanding every line of the code.
