A Question about global warming.

If global warming is heating the earth up which is causing all the ice in the arctic and antarctic to melt and will eventually cause a lot of floods, then wouldn't it be a solution is we all wasted water? Or at least not be so conservative of it?

No, cuz that would be sea water which contains sea salt. we can't drink sea water. Flood water would also be contaminated and not potable enough to use for drinking or bathing.

I never thought of it that way...you have a major point. But the bad part about the ice melting is not so much the floods, but the fact that after it all melts the polar bears and seals and all the other arctic animals will not be able to find food, because they use the ice to hunt from. They will drown just trying to find food. ;(

The water you waste will just runoff down to the oceans, anyway.  Won't do any good.  And some people won't have enough fresh water to drink or grow food.  Really bad idea.

Moving the icebergs to the desert would take huge amounts of energy to do.  We can't afford it, or we'd have farms in the desert right now.

First off, if we just 'waste' water, we're using up electricity. Not directly, but indirectly. Electricity is being used to filter the dirty water so it can be used. Second, if we just 'waste' water, it's just gonna come right back. Be REALISTIC. You can't just pick up ice burgs and place them in deserts.

you need to save fresh water. desalination of sea water needs power. and then even filters need power too and thats a lot of water to supply billions of people.

fresh water depends on rain. if temperatures changes, then it can affect the weather. they are thinking to build artificial lakes in sahara. maybe there will be more rain.

Global Warming MEANS "World Wide Warming!" It is ONLY A Political Term = NOT based in Real Science!

The EARTH is covered by "Three Quarters WATER!" Basic Science, it takes ONE-Btu to raise One Cubic Centimeter ONE Degree Centigrade!

HOW many "Gazillion Cubic Centimeters are there ONLY on the Surface of Planet Earth COVERED by 3/4 Water?"

HOW many Btu's would it take TO RAISE THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE ONE DEGREE?

DO THE MATH!

And, were are the Million TEMPERATURE MEASURING SITES on the Many Oceans THAT TELL US THAT THE OCEAN TEMPERATURES ARE RISING? Not!

Oh yes, POLAR temperatures have varied LESS Than one degree in the past 100-Years. Noticed I said VARIED, = NOT RISEN!

You should do more research on the supposed global warming. I have looked at many resources for and against the issue as it is the ONLY way you can be objective of anything. You will find that there is no REAL substantial proof of catastrophic global warming. In a few years we may even be back to the global cool scare. You just never know. . .

it's more than that the ozone layer will also deplete letting in more of those pesky uv rays (lmao I sound like a sunblock commercial) which will cause an environment in which it will be impossible to sustain living

(and sea water could be treated and turned into potable water)
