A Question about my cat?

He is very skinny. My cousins cat only eats those dry foods and he is healthy. My cat doesn't eat dry and he's skinnny. help?

  1. Have you had your vet check for worms? Any number of diseases can cause excessive thinness. Is he really too skinny or is he just natrually thin? Can you see and feel his ribs and hipbones easily if you can there's definately a problem.

He probably needs a vet exam.   I had a really skinny cat once and he had to take thyroid medicine.   However, it didn't fix anything.   Now I have another really skinny Siamese cat and I don't get it because my other cats are nice and healthy.   I am getting ready to get him a check up as he is losing weight.   He is so unassuming he lets all the other cats eat everything so I feed him on my kitchen counter and give him special fattening stuff like half n half.   Nothing works.

  3. Switch his food and see if that helps. If your only feeding him twice a day, switch to three times a day. Get him a vet check-up too. The vet can give him a vitamin shot to boost his appetite (it really works, we had a skinny kitten, took him to the vet & they gave him the shot and within weeks he was quite fatter). Good luck.
