I bought a 40GB PS3 (spiderman pack) in January of this year (2008).

Its really cool, but I was wanting more memory and backwards compatability, but I decided I didn't want the 80GB (stupid me).

So at the leizpig gaming convention I heard about the new 150GB PS3.

I thought, WOW. So now Im wondering if I should sell my 40GB and get the 150GB when it comes out.

40GB cost me $399.99

150GB will cost me 499.99

Plus, my Birthday is coming up, so I can afford the 150GB PS3 without having to sell the 40GB, but im going to sell the 40GB anyways because whats the point of having 2?

So, should I sell my 40GB and if so where should I sell it? Ebay? Gamestop? etc.

Or should I just keep it and not buy the 150GB?

  1. It's 160GB, not 150GB, for starters. It'll be released on 31/10/08. But it's the same 40GB with a larger HDD. No PS2 games, no card reader, 2 USBs.

  2. dude, don't waste your money because the 160GB (there is no 150GB)

does not have backwards compatibility. If I were you i would upgrade my hard drive, I would get at least a 120 GB hard drive to replace your 40GB. Plus, replacing your hard drive is easy and doesn't void your warranty. There are a million videos on how to do it on youtube.

  3. I found a lot of ps3 consoles and accessories for cheap here http://aboutallthings.org/index.php?sear... console system

    hope this helps,

  4. Get the 150GB if u can afford it. Sell it on Ebay or to a friend.. Those game stores (eb games, gamestop) will rip you off and not give you enough for it. I'm thinking about selling mine as well, the one i got is the limited edition gun metal grey mgs4 bundle one and i paid $620 for it and only good thing i got from it was the dualshock 3 controller and mgs4 oh and the cool color too but all that is not worth $620... I got ripped off cuz i bought it on impulse cuz i love the MGS series

  5. To start off with it is going to be a 160gb PS3 not 150gb. The 160gb will not have backwards capabilities. If you absolutely need backwards capabilites then I would recommend selling your 40gb PS3 and buying a 60gb PS3 off of ebay. They no longer sell 60gb PS3's in store.

If you are going to stay with your 40gb you can just upgrade your Hard Drive (maximum of 500gb) and it is very simple to do. But unless you are going to put videos/movies on your PS3 you won't need any more than 40gb.

  6. well you could just buy a new HDD rather than sell ur 40GB b/c they're both same aside from HDD size.

and a hard drive of that size will probably cost you the same(about $100-$150)

but if u want it for Drake's Fortune then thats your choice but you could always buy the game later.

    P.S.- Its 160GB i think.

  7. It's 160GB man not 150.

Sell it at Ebay because Gamestop might take it at a lower price.
