  1. I have never heard of a Reason for Science.  Great Science Adventures is ok.  I liked this

Creation Science program for the kids when they were in Middle school.

Up to third grade I like Abeka Science.

The Seven Days of Creation is ok, not great, but ok.

Creative Teaching Press has WONDERFUL books for Science too, for older kids. But you have to have some equipment. The Sciencewise series is my favorite for older kids.

In fact, Critical Thinking Company is wonderful for homeschooling.  It is one of my favorites.

As far as Great Science Adventures, it's fun, but not my favorite.

I always bought my supplies used from Ebay, or at a vendor in a hs convention, or had Barnes and Nobel order them to their store.  That way I could touch, feel, look over everything before purchase or purchase at a discounted (reasonable) price. I made the mistake of ordering a bunch of AO early on that the kids hated.  That was three hundred dollars lost.  So I learned to go cheap or look at the material first.  I would suggest you do the same.  You will save money in the long run.

  2. We use a Reason for Science and enjoy it.  I like the fact that all the supplies you need are included.  :)

My kids like the fact that it's all experiments.
