Game 3: Memphis Grizzlies 91 – San Antonio Spurs 88
The San Antonio Spurs arrived at the FedEx Forum to face the Memphis Grizzlies for the third time in the exciting play-off series. The All-Star Zach Randolph regained his momentum and posted another impressive performance to lead the Grizzlies down the stretch
for a smashing 91-88 victory.
Memphis clinched their first ever play-off win at their home court to lead the contest 2-1. The crowd at the arena was truly incredible, as they were on their toes throughout the game, supporting the home team tremendously.
Randolph scored 25 points and clutched 5 rebounds to put his team on the frontline. The game had some wavering moments for both the teams in all of the four quarters, as the player of the night Randolph surged with a blistering blow from downtown in the
crunch time to seal a brilliant win.
Game 4: Memphis Grizzlies 104 – San Antonio Spurs 86
At the FedEx Forum on Monday night, the Memphis Grizzlies displayed a tremendous team effort in Game 4 at their own building and thrashed struggling San Antonio for a comprehensive 104-86 win. Trailing by two points going into the half-time, the Grizzlies
fired up their defence restricted the Spurs to 37.8 percent shooting as they cemented their chances for the second round by amplifying the first round series lead 3-1.
Despite Tony Parker’s impressive performance with a game-high 23 points, the home team dominated the Spurs convincingly after half-time. Mike Conley was the frontrunner in the Grizzlies line-up who led the scoring with a team-high 15 points and 7 assists.
Game 5: San Antonio Spurs 110 – Memphis Grizzlies 103
On the verge of avoiding first round elimination, the San Antonio Spurs overshadowed the resurgent Memphis Grizzlies for a thrilling 110-103 over-time victory at the AT&T Centre. Gary Neal kept the hopes intact for the Spurs with his scorching buzzer beater
from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter to tie the game 97-97 and took the proceedings in the over-time.
The versatile forward Randolph blistered away with 26 points and 11 to put the Grizzlies on the frontline, as Neal’s aggressive blow snatched the lead from the visiting team and eventually the Spurs outperformed Memphis in over-time. Manu Ginobili was the
top performer of the night who finished off with 33 points and San Antonio trimmed down the series lead to 3-2.
Game 6: Memphis Grizzlies 99 – San Antonio Spurs 91
The veteran forward Zach Randolph smashed the opposition with 17 points in the last quarter and thrashed the San Antonio Spurs for a first round exit after securing a magnificent 99-91 victory at the FedEx Forum on Friday night. Randolph posted the best
performance of the play-offs as he racked up a game-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to spearhead the Grizzlies for a historic win that titled them the fourth eighth seeded team in the NBA-history to brush off the top seed in the post-season.
After a slow start, the Spurs retaliated aggressively and snatched the lead form the home team. San Antonio was leading 80-79 with 4:40 remaining in the final buzzer when Zach became invincible with his flawless shooting and crushed the Spur’s hopes for
the next round.
