"Inspiration Dance"

We poets dance on planet Mars,

forgetting all the woes of Earth,

the motherland that gave us birth

but also gifts of prison bars.

Away from chaos screeching cars,

we build a home of cheer and mirth.

We poets dance on planet Mars,

forgetting all the woes of Earth.

Beyond our pain we cherish scars,

discovering our own self worth

and self-creating our rebirth.

Reaching always for the stars,

we poets dance on planet Mars.

  1. I think she'll love it.  I know I do.  Very well written and great theme.

  2. I do indeed feel she will like it!  I know I do! Just wondering these poets on Mars --do they sometimes hear the beat of a different drummer, or is there another planet that I AM in tune with! Hmm that could be a possibility!!

Loved your poetry's heart message, from your heart to ours!!  Cheers!!!

  3. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this! And I know Elaine will too!

  4. A wonderful Martian poem and Dance.  Self-creating our rebirth is a great line.  You are on a roll!

  5. Oh! The Rondel (not to be confused with the Rondeau) is a difficult, very highly structured form, extremely difficult to master. Each line must contain either 8 or 10 beats.

The poem misses one beat in S3, Lines 3 and 4. S3, Line 2 can be considered 8 beats if "discovering" is pronounced dis-cov-er-ing.

However, the poem is marvelous; certainly an "inspiration dance" for all of us who love the word, classical forms and our utopian fantasy.

  6. Why do stick poets to Mars? They have a span from infinity to infinity, in spaces, time and places. U R not calling them martians or aliens , R U ?

    Nice.
