A.S Roma defender Cicinho desperate to get back into first team and eyeing a new contract

The Brazilian had two good seasons with the Giallorossi since joining the club from Real Madrid in 2007 but has struggled to hold onto his place and has been loaned out twice. The right-back was loaned to Brazilian side, Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431, in 2010 followed by another loan spell with Spanish side Villarreal in the last season.

Cicinho’s current contract with Roma is due to expire after the end of the next season and the stopper is desperate for an extension.
Talking to the reporters Cicinho said, “I’m happy with how training is going. I thank the staff for their faith in me. I’m working hard with the new season on the horizon because I want to play more often.”
“I have just a year left on my agreement. I’ve spoken to the Coach and sporting director Walter Sabatini, but not about my contract. For now I just need to play football and show people that I am a different player, but I would have no problem accepting a reduced salary to stay.”
The 31-year-old has made only 54 appearances for the Giallorossi in his four years with the club so far, and has also scored three goals. The defender has also been part of the 2007 Supercoppa Italiana and 2008 Coppa Italia winning squads with the club.
