  1. When Jews visit a grave, they place a pebble on the headstone, signifying that the grave has been visited.

  2. When Jewish people pay homage to someone, they put rocks on the headstone, instead of flowers. It's to show that someone has visited the grave, a continuing memory of the loved one who passed as if to say "our memory of you is as strong and enduring as a rock. Also it was because graves used to be nothing more than a heap of stones, so a person would look around the vacinity and place a stone on the grave to replace one that might have fallen off.

  3. it's a way of paying tribute.

  4. The rocks represented all of the people that schindler was able to save.  The people who Schindler saved in real life were with the people who played them in the movie and placed a rock on his grave.
