Question:

A Serious Question About "Pooping Pills".?

So, my 16 year old daughter has many health problems, but I am not going to get into detail about them. Any way, recently, she is having a problem pooping. She is only pooping about once a week. Since she has so many health problems though, her main doctor gave me her cell phone number. Her doctor is away on vacation, but I was able to call her and tell her about my daughter's problem. She said to have my daughter take an over the counter pill that will make her p**p right after she eats. So, I need a pill that my daughter will be able to take and then eat, and p**p as soon as possible. Please, only serious answers because this matter upsets me and is very serious. Please add the name of the pill, the price, and where I can purchase it at. My daughter has a doctor appointment in 8 days, but I need something now. THANKS!

  1. Suppositories work that fast, or a Fleet e***a.  But I don't know of any pills that work that fast. Call any pharmacist to find out if there is such a pill.

I recommend Miralax. It's like Metamucil much works much better. Twice a day, drink lots of water, excercise if possible for at least 25 minutes without stopping.  A brisk walk is great. Or treadmill or stationary bike, swimming, running, etc. I also recommend a daily stool softener. (very inexpensive) Generic ducosate sodium 100mg.  1 or 2 daily. All these things are sold everywhere, but I recommend WalMart. The Miralax is cheaper if you get a prescription for it. Get a Fleet e***a (generic OK, $1.) in her asap.

Feel free to talk to any pharmacist about all these things. Pharmacists are so smart, kind, and helpful. I myself do all of the above.  Of course fruits and veggies are a must.

Bless your daughter and good luck!  :)

  2. I don't know about the pills...but digestive health is so important, or she won't get the proper nutrition and maintain flora.  Does she like yogurt?  If so, have her drink kefir.  It contains probiotics and makes you have a big healthy poo everyday.  You can get it in the yogurt section, or any organic market/health food store.

The doc may be talking about stool softeners.  just go to the pharmacist at any grocery/drug store and ask them which would be best for your daughter.
