  1. 55 600 000

    explanation:

Look at the ten thousand place which is 9

Look at the right of 9 which is 6

It is stated in the rule that 1-4 is round down and 5-9 is round up

    so

    we round up

since that 9 is the highest number of round up you should look at its left which is 5, add 1 to 5 and change 9 below into 0

  2. Answer: 55 600 000 km

    Explanation:

-First locate the ten thousands place in the original number

55 596 284...the number in the ten thousands place is the 9.

-Next, round this number either up or down depending on the number to it's right (or, technically, the number in the thousands place).  If the number is 5 or higher, you round the 9 up (to 10).  If the number is 4 or lower, you round it down (to 9).  Because there is a 6 in the thousands place, you will round the 9 up, to 10.  Because 10 takes up two places, you must instead round 59 up to 60 (the numbers in the hundred thousands and ten thousands places).

  3. 55,600,000.
