A song about a Rd/St in Liverpool-Not Penny Lane!?

Im trying to get a song that i heard in the TV Doc on Thursday ITV @ 7.30pm (Ghost Town? Londons empty Houses) Its about a Rd/St in Liverpool from a band that was raised in Liverpool, maybe the Beetles maybe another band??? Cant remeber any words only the tune, Anybody watch the Doc, im assuming its a very well known song? Thanks

Could really be anyone-there was lots of bands in the 60s besides the Beatles-Gerry and the Pacemakers were one.- Scaffold were another.There were bands in the 70s - The real thing and 80s too like The Christians and a flock of seaguls.
