In your opinion, what is the most credible medical journal on bone health? Also, if you would like to answer, what are do you think is the best medical treatment for osteoporosis/osteopenia?

  1. I have to agree with the JAMA reader as well.  I also think Medscape and WebMD are some good sources as well.  You can also go to college library and look up Orthopedic journals as well.

    For osteoporosis the best thing is weight bearing exercises (running, light weight lifting, walking)  however, a supplement also helps as well.  

    In your younger years and especially for women in child bearing years need to eat a high calcium diet (dairy, green vegetables, and even soy products that are calcium fortified).  You can also take pro vitamin supplements as well.  Seek your doctor's advice.
