AT FIRST, THEY WHERE SORRY. THE STORE MANAGER HERE IN LOUISVILLE TOLD MY SON IF THEY DID NOT FIND IT THEN THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. THE MANAGER MEET MY SON AT THE PHONE COMPANY TO PURCHASE PHONE. AFTER TALKING WITH A REP. FROM THE STORE AND GETTING THE PRICE THE MANAGER TOLD MY SON HE HAD A MEETING TO ATTEND AND TO COME BY THE STORE THE NEXT DAY TO GET MONEY. WHEN HE ARRIVED THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED THE POLICE ON HIM AND WANTED HIM TO TAKE 85.00 AND GO. THE PHONE COST 297.00+ TAX. I WENT TO THE STORE TO HELP MY SON. AFTER THE POLICE FOUND OUT MY SON WAS THE VICTIM THEY TOLD THE AREA MANAGER( THE PERSON THAT CALLED THE POLICE) THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO HE THOUGHT MY SON CALLED. I WENT TO THE CORP. OFFICE AND WAS GIVEN A FORM . WHEN I TOOK THE FORM BACK KNOW ONW KNEW WHO TO GIVE IT TO. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS TOLD IF I COME BACK TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME. I CALLED THE 800 # AND WAS TOLD A DISTRICT MANAGER WOULD CALL IN THREE DAYS. HE DID NOT CALL. I DID THAT TWICE STILL NO CALL.

  1. File a police report, if you haven't already done so.

Mail a snail-mail to the local Taco Bell manager (returned receipt requested) and the Taco Bell Corporate Office.

Keep it to one page long.

Start off your letter with a brief paragraph of how long you've been a loyal Taco Bell customer, and how shocked you are over how this incident was handled.

Briefly explain the problem, and request they replace the phone at their expense by a certain date (I usually give them 2 to 3 weeks from the date I mail the letter).

Attach a copy of the police report to your letter.

If they don't replace it, take them to small claims court.  If you've got a police report, I'm guessing you'll win there.

    Good luck.
