Question:

A Tall Tripod for Video?

I am looking to buy a new tripod for my video camera (panasonic pvgs-320) and iam pretty tall (6'5). I am very unhappy with mine rite now because at its full height i can't comfortabley look through the viewfinder. I was wondering if anyone might sugest some specific models.

  1. you adjust the tripod for the height of the subjects, and not the height of the cameraman!! Not everyone would appreciate the view looking down on the world.  

    this model is a Palmcorder, intended for handheld shooting. it is not built as a studio camera. Use less zoom and learn to cradle it at waist level with the LCD tilted up and you will get great "steadycam" shots.  i find natural supports and such with my miniDV which is designed to not be able to change tape should you have a tripod adaptor mounted.

    most of my tripod shots with the betacam are fixed shots, so i don't need to have my eyeball glued to the viewfinder anyway.  if you only watch the viewfinder, you miss out in anticipating the action that is coming into the shot.
