Congratulations to South Africa, It was a great game. Both teams played very well and England gave it their best. It was a shamed they just came up short.

Well done, Party Hard and no doubt we will all be looking forward to the next Rugby World Cup 2011.

A Congratulations to England for making it this far, It just comes to show that you can play exciting Rugby and a thriller it was.

So to all you supporters of both teams, Congratulations to you all as you both should be very proud of your Teams.

Kindness Regards

P.S. The purpose of my question is to ask if there is anything anyone would like to add, comment regarding the game, party, the atmosphere regarding what's it like in your Country now that the holder of the World Cup has been decided?

  1. I don't think I would say it was a great game.

No tries in the final ? How can that be a good thing ?

Argentina taking the bronze off the French - now that was a great game.

Well done RSA, very smart calculated game but can't help thinking that there is more to rugby than chanting the "defense wins world cups" mantra especially when you have a class back line standing around twiddling their thumbs. It has to be said: tonights game was really just another day at the office for the Africans, they are capable of much more. Baffles me how so many people can support a tactical Springbok kicking game yet get all cross and grumpy when England do it.

For me this world cup was all about Argentina and the Pacific Island nations sure the Bokke thumped them and played a brilliant tournament. They are in a class of their own.

I can only hope things don't change too much for Springbok rugby in the future - it will be very sad indeed if they can not field their strongest possible team to defend the championship in 2011.

    And yes, I'm another Kiwi.

Yeah Murphy I remember, and could care less about 1995, did you watch Argentina and France play in 2007?

  2. I thought it was a good game - not a great game due to lack of tries.  Well done to SA for winning.  I would have been thrilled if England had won but am not gutted that they didn't - think they did well to keep on improving througout the tournament.  Looking forward to 2011 - if we get a stadium to play in!

  3. The right result and at last some consistency in the refereeing. Thankfully the ref used the video ref for what would have been a disaster had the English attempt been awarded. It was a good final and South Africa well deserved. Bring on 2011 in Auckland and I still think the best team in the world was not found. :)

  4. It was a great game indeed I think England played well above there performance level today and as always SA remained steady abit rattled with the first (dissallowed) try however great all round performance from both teams.

In my country which I suspect is the same as yours considering I am an ABs fan also, the only thing I can say is there were more cars outside today than there were when the ABs played in the QF so I think I can safely say that in my part of town it was business as usual.

Yes my congratulations go out to both England and the Bokkes a game well played and a win well deserved!!

    Well done Bokkes!!

  5. Thank you, Sleepy, and, thank you England. You surprised the world and you surprised us all here in good old SA. It was a tough game. Both teams opted for the 'safe', grinding type of rugby that is not all that attractive. But h**l, it was a world cup final and all about winning.

In this country we are elated, thankful and extremely hung over.

  6. Yes it was a tough game.  A game of attrition.  Which harks back to the good ole days when rugby was a tough match and results were eked out through sheer determination and grit.  Well done England and South Africa, two champion teams befitting a Rugby World Cup final.

An All Black fan and a New Zealander.

  7. I bet for SA!! and they are the champs! Yiipppeeeee.....

    Congratz! to ENG as well.

    job well done.

  8. Congratulations to RSA. Special mention must go to Os du Randt. Second winner's medal after 1995. What an achievement.

    Cymru am byth !

  9. It was fabulous that they won!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a great sympathy for South Africa good achievements and the Rugby World Cup was the first event that following Mandela's election worked as an expression of hope, understanding and union within his country. I loved to see President's Mbeki real satisfaction!!!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations!!!!!

  10. Yes another great game.. Good for the purists.

Damian: Remember that in the 1995 RWC final the AB's and SA failed to score a try..

    Well done to both teams.

    AB suppoter

  11. Yes. What a thrill it was to see the South Africans win ( My Country). And at the same time one must give CREDIT to England, they played a hard tough game. And for me the game could have gone to either team. And I agree. Bokke GREAT, WELL DONE! And to England, you played a good  hard game, and it is a pity about that one try.
