A Two way battle between Magna Buddy and Boher Legend expected in Owlerton Bookmakers 280
A two way battle between Magna Buddy and Boher Legend is expected in the Owlerton Bookmakers 280 at Sheffield in England on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. The Grade OR event has a winning prize money of £200.
A total of six quality runners have been confirmed for the 280 metres flat race, which is scheduled to start at 19:27 GMT. The names of these participants are: Magna Buddy, Boher Legend, Bowtime Honcho, Boyneside Banty, Hazy Purty and Pass The Port.
Magna Buddy is a consistent runner and it is difficult to match his speed, when he is at his best. However, his last three outings saw him finishing third, which indicates that he does not have the winning momentum at the moment.
In his previous outing at Sheffield, J. Wright’s trainee entered with the best odds, but failed to finish on top of the table. He was crowded at the start of the race, losing some crucial time. This proved to be too much costly, as it was just a 280 metres
race.
Despite that, Magna Buddy recovered well and managed to finish in top three. He will need a clean run in order to end up on top. The favourite hound is the son of Big Daddy Bool out of Borna On Air and was born in February 2008.
On the other hand, the punters will be placing a lot of bets on Boher Legend, who is quite capable of winning races regularly. He has been doing trial times mostly these days, which suggests that he is out of race practice.
However, C. Lister’s trainee has been setting some very good times in his solo outings. Other than that, he ran to an impressive victory at Henlow in February, this year. He will need a similar display in order to win at Sheffield.
The black dog is the son of Balintore Brave out of Knock Princess and was born in October 2008.
Bowtime Honcho, trained by J. Sharp, is another hound who can make a solid impression in this class. However, he has been a touch inconsistent over the past few months and might struggle today as well.
The remaining participants will need a lot of luck in order to win, as the top two favourites are in dominant form.
