A Typical Day at the beach in the Bahamas?

Hello, I'm an American and I just recently moved to the Bahamas a month or two ago, I'm adjusting good but...there is a essay I need to write about a typical day at the beach in the Bahamas and it needs to have things that Bahamians do and what you'll see. I never been to the beach yet but I think I'll go when I have more time on my hands. I've tried researching but I don't see anything, and I asked some of my Bahamian friends but they have to do the essay too. Can someone at ;least please give me a good introductrion to start the story or some things they do. If ur not a Bahamian neither you can always use thethings people do in Miami at the beach (I never been there, I use to live in Michigan) So if there are any websites or of you can search it up and find any results it'll be perfect! Thanks for your help!!

I'll give this a try. This would be my typical day on the beach.

Getting to the beach early with a friend. Find a good spot with some shade (grape tree shade coverage) Set up my corner of the world with a beach chair, towel and a cooler. Water, soda, some fruit and maybe a sandwich. I would have a book and my ipod with me. Plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

After I got settled we would go for a swim and do some snorkeling. I love to snorkel in the morning. After my snorkel, maybe we would go for a walk looking for sea shells or sea glass. After a while, we would head back to our spot and rest a while, suntanning, reading  and listening to music. Eat a snack and maybe even take a nap.

We would probably do some people watching, that's always fun to do. Check out the local scene and maybe do a water excursion like jet skis or water ski-ing. Maybe meet another friend who has a boat and go for ride.

Welcome to the Bahamas!  I live on Paradise Island during the cold winter months in Illinois - we will go back to Illinois in May when it's warmer there.

We love to go to the beach!  Our typical day is packing a nice cooler of fruit and water to snack on and heading out.  We look for a perfect spot - we like to sit close to the water on chairs.  We also love to play in the water!  Often we will bring a frisbee or softball and one of our golden retrievers to play with as well - the dogs love the water!  

At lunch time we will head over to one of the resorts - usually Atlantis, to grab something for lunch and walk our dog back home.  We pick up some magazines and head back for a relaxing afternoon of just laying around in the sun.  I love to take picture, so I'm often found wandering around photographing something while my husband sleeps  , and usually snores, in his chair!  Sometimes I think everyone can hear him!

People selling drinks on the beach often come by, but we don't drink so we don't partake, but it's fun to watch them make drinks for others.    

We love watching people play on the beach, but for the most part, it's a very relaxing day and we use lots of sunscreen!
