When the common market was established it was to help all members, now with all the poor eastern Europe countries coming in, they take but put ZERO in at are expense, take Romania for example what can they possibly contribute to us apart from criminals, beggars, and benefit cheats.

You notice most come to the UK as we are so stupidly soft with giving benefits and free hospital care, WHEN are we ever going to wake up!

  1. What you have is deep prejudice. What you don't have is the necessary filters. The problem with your reasoning and conclusion is that you have never experienced anything outside what I call the "British is best" propaganda.

What you should ask yourself is, would you so speak if you were told the truth? That we are not really the best in the world? And it is possible to get better housing and medical care in Romania for instance. Or in China for that matter. Get a passport mate and get some fresh air because you sure are not getting it here.

  2. Bureauract and Hypocrisy

  3. Your question is similar to one being debated and voted upon on www.myverdict.net. You may be interested in joining the debate.

  4. I've been asking that question for years and have yet to find an answer that convinces me that surrender of our national sovereignty to the EU was in the best interests of the British people. I realise that it was in the interests of politicians and the like who are able to ride the gravy train but for the rest of us all we have is regulation, interference and a country going down the tubes.

  5. I am not xenophobic, jonesy, (in case you were wondering), however I am absolutely against the British role in the EU - we are now tied in to a political, economic, legislative and social union with a large number of countries with which we have no common language, no common goals, which throughout our history we have been fighting wars against, and which (as a whole) deride us for our food, insular island mentality, etc. We pay out more than we get back, and unlike other countries (France, Spain, Italy in particular), we seem to abide by every little rule and regulation that the EU throws at us, rather than ignoring them when they don't suit... on top of this, we seem to have the highest proportion of economic migrants - both legal and illegal - and our disgracefully poor border controls mean that we have absolutely no idea how many of the latter are here, or how many of these may be involved in criminal/terrorist activity - the security of the nation is at stake. Please note, my grandmother is a French Catholic, and my grandfather subsequently re-married to a German Jew - I have no specific "axe to grind".

  6. Don't blame the people.

The fault lays with the politicians who have lied to everyone on the subject, sometimes for power, sometimes for money, sometimes for fear or combinations thereof.

A simple trading arrangement would be good, but people covet power and self importance. Sadly once elected any humility that they had quickly evaporates in the intoxicating environment of ruling other people's lives.

Why else the plethora of useless and costly legislation?

Environmental laws are a classic example, they cost more to implement than they save and have the effect dumping our waste on poor countries under 'recycling' schemes.

The green party with a very few politicians in Europe now has a disproportionate amount of power and their leaders are jetting about and getting very wealthy at our expense!

  7. YES

But under the current policy and current poor leaders. NO! However we have to admit the current world economic climate is getting too large for little Britain to keep up. To demonstrate I mean the future will see 4 superpower states, USA, EU, Russia and China. Japan has acknowledged this and responsible for over 50% of the investment into China because they know the sheer resource giant, size for expansion. Note Japan is the 2nd richest country way way richer than Germany, UK, France together and they recognize this change.

Also our currency is stupidly high. No one outsources or buys British goods because of the pound. For this reason we suffer a 20% continual drop in all sectors apart from financial due to the increase in loans! So the need for growth makes the EU membership necessary otherwise the UK will keep dropping and eventually collapse.

Churchill was a genius! Why? He could see the world was changing, he recognized the new threats and need to change British attitudes. Why then have we not learned anything? We are going down daily but internal pride sours and that wont hold us up.

  8. " Take Romania for example what can they possibly contribute to us apart from criminals, beggars, and benefit cheats."

I think you're views are slighly biased, given you're xenophobic.

  9. We get absolutely nothing from the EU apart from the people that nobody else wants

  10. well you've woken up at last, its a pity the rest of Britain doesn't  The E U is a club for ex MP's who now get a nice salary all paid for by us, we contribute billions of £ to the EU because we are a productive country, while the rest of them are not much better than pheasant's, Spain has received a huge amount of money from the E.U to develop its infrastructure and so has Germany and France, all paid by us, and now we will be pouring in millions of more of our £ to help these ex eastern block countries who again are not much better the 3rd world countries. And as you say they all want to head here to help themselves to our benefits system, and our politicians say it's their right. I say what about OUR rights, surely we should put our own first ? I think we'd be better off trading with our old Commonwealth countries like America,Canada,Australia and New Zealand.

  11. The reason that the EU does not work for UK residents has little to do with the EU but the Government.

In order for us to benefit from the EU we must participate in it and we dont.

We dont favour European goods, embrace the Euro or take advantage of the positive aspects of membership!

Why? Because if we embraced the Euro and bought European goods the Governments pals in Threadneedle Street, the Banks, would miss out on all the lovely cash they make out of the exchange mechanism. British retailers would lose profits because they could no longer fleece customers by hiding behind exchange rates, Gordon would miss out on VAT on the excess profits, people would borrow less on credit cards and pay less exhorbitant interest to the Banks.

The reason we seem to get a high percentage of undesirables is because law & order in the UK is out of control, with a 27% chance of getting caught,  prisons full so less chance of getting banged up, fixed penalties for shoplifting, a Home Office that could not run a bath, all this means that the UK is a paradise for villains, with a welcome sign over the door.

  12. If you were the prime minister UK would have gone down long ago

  13. 1/ a market for your products,

2/ people to employ, to replace your lazy workers,

3/ giving you the right perpsective: Britain is not the centre ot the world any more

    enough?

  14. Please stop promoting such evident Xenophobic policies against those nations you consider as inferior. We live in a world that is becoming more international day by day and if you still have problems with those outside the "elite" circle of Great Britain, the rest of western Europe and the U.S., then you have some serious issues to solve. You cannot go classiying nations such as Romania as inferior, that only shows an evident lack of international knowledge, moral awareness and education.

  15. Back in the 70s we had a referendum to see if we should stay in the EC as it was then. I saw through the lies that it was just a trading partnership, and voted against. However, a lot in my family, and at work believed the lies and voted for. As I said at the time,we had been trading with the world for hundreds of years, we did not need a closer tie to Europe. Almost overnight we severed our ties with our commonwealth friends, such as Australia and New Zealand, destroying their economies. We get no benefits from being in the EU and being a major contributor. Peace in Europe has nothing to do with the Eu ,but everything to do with NATO. I do not believe that anybody too young to have voted in that referendum should have their pro-EU views considered.

Churchill wanted there to be a unity of European states, BUT, he did not think that should include us.

  16. the reason the government gave to us being in the EU was that it will give us support in the next war Britain are involved in. but you are completely right us being in the EU is irresponsible and opening us to attacks from other countries. we should do as America does and give out greencards and things like that it would be alot easier.
