A Walk Of Awareness! Look At This!!! =)?

Question

I'm one of those people that love to volunteer, hate Global Warming, etc. I was thinking of creating a Walk of Awareness. We could have a walkathon for all of Georgia (that's where I live). I know I make it sound easy, but I know it's hard work. What's the first step to making this happen.

Check with your local and State authorities about any rules or regulations (safety).  Then get a steering committee together and start delegating jobs (advertising, recruiting, routes, dates, rest stops, drinking water etc.)....incolve the Chamber of Commerce, newspapers and County officials, have a great time, wonderful idea, and be safe....the journey begins with the first step....good for you....thank you
