1. Congrats! You've just won the Stanley Cup for a day.....what do you do with it first?

2. How do you feel about Stefan Legein's choice to hang up the skates at age 19? Is there more to this story than we've heard?

3. Would you rather see Mats Sundin (ugh, I'm tired of hearing about him now but I decided I had to ask one thing about him) in the East or the West?

4. I prefer my team's white away jersey to their black home one. With your team do you prefer their home or away jersey?

5. Today I heard that Johnny Depp, Colin Farrel, and Jude Law gave the money they earned from working on a movie to Heath Ledger's (RIP) daughter

http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/goddess/matilda-ledgers-guardian-angels/85?nc

It caught me at shock because it's been a while since I've heard any "nice guy" stories. Who do you think is the most generous player in the NHL and which NHL player could you imagine being a "Johnny Depp" or a "Colin Farrel" or a "Jude Law" in this story?

6. What will happen when Chris Simon gets kicked out of the Russian league? Will he be flipping burgers at McDonalds? Will he be blowing up balloon animals at kid's birthday parties?

7. How long do you think it'll be until Yahoo fixes this glitch here in the hockey section?

8. I thought I saw Jordan Staal in a car last week in southern PA about 30 minutes away from WV, and earlier that week I thought I saw Wayne Gretzky in a McDonalds. Have you ever thought you saw a hockey player and it wasn't really them?

9. Will Ryan Whitney being out for 3-5 months effect the Penguins this season?

10. Do you think Howard can beat out Conklin for the Wing's back up goalie spot?

  1. 1) I'd probably take it all around Pittsburgh and just photograph it in random places.

    2) Hmm... Well, he's only NINETEEN. He's still a kid, ya know? Not everyone is meant for a sport that takes up a lot of your time. I'm guessing he'll be back in a few years.

    3) I don't like him, so i don't care lol

    4) whaaaaat! I love the Pens home jerseys! lol

    5) didn't his daughter get screwed out of A LOT of money from Heaths parents? hmm well, i can see Greg or Ryan Malone being a "Johnny/Colin/Jude" in the story

    6) lmao, i can see him only being able to make balloon hockey sticks or something and pissing the kids off....

    7) never. it will be ongoing. forever and ever and ever

    8) i just asked this question in my last batch of random questions lol. yeeah, i thought i saw Max Talbot at a d**k's.

    9) WHY THE h**l COULDN'T HIS DOCTOR HAVE TOLD HIM THIS THREE MONTHS AGO?!?!?!?!??!? this aggravates me. My friend brought this up at the mall and i ended up almost getting kicked out of the store we were in. *breathes in* I think he'll strengthen the team once he comes back, but i think we'll do good without him.

    10) Conks is still the man, even if he isn't playing for my team.

  2. 1. I'd take it to my local hockey arena to give the little pee-wee hockey players motivation to excel in hockey.

    2. I don't have much to say about this story, except that it was his personal choice and that we should all just accept it. Nobody can make him change his mind.

    3. In the West (as far away from the Pens as possible!)

    4. Are you talking about the Penguins? Don't give me that look, I know you're a Pens fan. As for myself, I actually like our black home jerseys more than our white away ones.

    5. I don't think that there's just one generous player in the NHL; I think most of the players are. I mean, look at the Penguins. Every winter, they go shopping with kids who don't have enough money for winter clothes. I think that if you put any of the Pens in the position that those actors were in, they would gladly give some of their salary to a person in need.

    6. He'll be doing traditional Russian dances in the streets of Moscow for some change. Either that or he'll be doing this:

    7. I don't know, but it better be soon! We've already lost enough regulars as it is!

    8. No, and I hope I don't. If I ever even see someone who I even think is a Penguin, I'll probably go into coronary arrest. (If I ever see Sidney Crosby, I'll die on the spot!)

    9. No, I don't think it will. His foot was hurting him pretty bad last season and that's the reason why he wasn't racking up the points. When he comes back from his surgery next season, I guarantee you he'll be on fire!

    10. No.

P.S: Your questions aren't completely lame. I enjoyed answering them. I'm not a creative person either. You should see my art projects from 3rd grade.

  3. To paraphrase the Yahoo brain trust: "One question, one answer, that's just how it works."

So I'm picking #2. You heard it here first: I'm betting that Stefan Legein had a runin with the law and he found out that he can't get permission to enter the US. How else can you explain anyone being so singleminded for so many years and then walking away just as he's about to claim the jackpot. It's not like he was the 267th pick either. He was their 2nd. If in fact this is not the reason, I am fearlessly predicting that even Bettman won't be able to prevent U.S.immigration/Homeland Security paranoia from ruining some careers in the not-too-distant future.

Bonus Answer: (#7): Before Toronto wins the Stanley Cup

  4. 1.) Have a party with it, then bring it to the local hockey rink so that the kids can take pictures with it.

2.) Yeah, there's definitely more to the story than we know.  What hockey player, who recently got drafted, would want to quit??

3.) In the West so that my team doesn't have to play him!  As annoying as he's been by not signing a contract, you have to admit he's pretty d**n good.

4.) I like the Devils' white jerseys better.  The home jerseys have too much red on them.

5.) Vincent Lecavalier recently donated $3 million to a children's hospital.  True, he's making a lot of money but $3 million is a little less than half his salary for a year!  That's VERY generous.

6.) Flipping burgers by day, rehab and anger management classes by night.

7.) At the rate they're going at, next season...

8.) Yes!  I was visiting my brother who lives in Manhattan, and he took me to a bakery where I saw this guy working there who looks EXACTLY like Bill Guerin!  Even my brother agreed.  He was just not as muscular.  lol.  It obviously couldn't be him, unless Guerin's secret dream was to work in a bakery and he ditched his game that night lol.  I also thought I saw Pavel Bure at a mall in NJ, but I know for sure I saw retired Devils player Tommy Albelin at the Devils' old practice rink when I was skating with my friends.

9.) It's definitely going to hurt, but I don't think it's going to make a substantial impact on their rank in the standings.  He's a great player, and the Pens definitely have to step it up.

10.) No.  If Conklin proved he could be a solid goalie in Pittsburgh, then he's definitely going to at least get the backup spot.  Plus, the Wings wouldn't have signed him if they didn't think so.

  5. 1.Bring it to my first ice hockey coach back home, and thanking him for teaching me how to play. And take a victory lap with it while driving the Zamboni!

    2. Hey its was the kids choice, whatever floats his boat.

3.East, because theres tougher competition in my opinion.

4.Home, but if I had a choice its definitely the winter classic pens jersey.

    5.Vinny Lecavalier

    6. Either he finds another team to harass, orrr its back to wearing the Chuck E. Cheese mascot suit for a living.

    7.God it better be soon...

    8. I could have sworn I saw Lemieux driving to a tournament outside of Wilkes-Barre Scranton.. I almost screamed his name out the window.. until I saw the driver wearing a Flyers shirt. ugh

    9. Sadly yes, the mans a beast. Pens need a strong right handed point, now we have Letang who still has a lot to learn but a great potential. I still don't see how they waited until AUGUST to get a 5 month surgery...

    10. I don't know much about Howard, but Conklin is a solid backup, at times he can be streaky but hey he gets the job done. Thank god the Pens had him or they would of gotten their buts kicked with Sabourin in net...

  6. 1) I am having a pick up game with my girls team for it . Then having a huge party for family and friends with it.

2)There has to much more to the story then we are hearing. Maybe he will move into coaching or the like.

    3)West

4)I personally like the white jersey

5)I can not see a player giving up like a season's worth of pay. Maybe a month's pay. But I am really not sure who would do it

6)He will teach a goon camp for wannabes

    7)the year 2525

8)NO I usually do see the players. There are a lot of them here all year round.

9)It will not do you guys ant favors. But will have someone from the minors a chance to shine

10)Nope I do not see it

  7. 1. Congrats! You've just won the Stanley Cup for a day.....what do you do with it first?   Bring it to my friends house and eat kraft dinner out of it

    2. How do you feel about Stefan Legein's choice to hang up the skates at age 19? Is there more to this story than we've heard? !!! never heard of this

    3. Would you rather see Mats Sundin (ugh, I'm tired of hearing about him now but I decided I had to ask one thing about him) in the East or the West?  East

    4. I prefer my team's white away jersey to their black home one. With your team do you prefer their home or away jersey? Home

    http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/goddess/matil...

It caught me at shock because it's been a while since I've heard any "nice guy" stories. Who do you think is the most generous player in the NHL and which NHL player could you imagine being a "Johnny Depp" or a "Colin Farrel" or a "Jude Law" in this story?  Jarome Iginla or anyone on the flames. They are always doing something for the community and i hear iginla goes to the children's hospital here in calgary alot

    6. What will happen when Chris Simon gets kicked out of the Russian league? Will he be flipping burgers at McDonalds? Will he be blowing up balloon animals at kid's birthday parties?  lol probably mcdonalds or  he will be too lazy to move back to america so he will work in russia

    7. How long do you think it'll be until Yahoo fixes this glitch here in the hockey section?  lol probably never. face it, Y!A hates us

    8. I thought I saw Jordan Staal in a car last week in southern PA about 30 minutes away from WV, and earlier that week I thought I saw Wayne Gretzky in a McDonalds. Have you ever thought you saw a hockey player and it wasn't really them? lol yep. i  thought i saw sidney crosbaby but i was like wait he is wearing ccm track pants not rbk. i did see scotty bowman for real though

    9. Will Ryan Whitney being out for 3-5 months effect the Penguins this season? yep

    10. Do you think Howard can beat out Conklin for the Wing's back up goalie spot?  hmmm no

  8. 1. I would kiss it and attempt to lift it! Then i'll have a party!

    2. I think its sad that someone so young hangs up their skates, but if he feels that's whats best for him, than i wish him luck

    3. West

    4. Well i own the hurricanes home jersey but i kinda prefer the away, just because the home is all red, and its really bold

5.I read that story too, i was happy to hear they did that! Well as of the the hurricanes, i have to say Rod Brind'amour, he is a great guy. There are alot of players in the league that i could see doing something like that.

6.Well he is already a clown so he should be good at making balloon animals

7.Who know's hopefully soon, its starting to drive some of the regulars away.

8.No i don't live in a hockey city so i never think i see them, unless i'm in raleigh or cary for some reason, but i never am unless its game time.

9.Maybe... he was one of the better defensemen

10.I don't know, he might be able too, but it think conklin is good, so he might be able to beat him out.

  9. 1. Drink hard liquor out of it of course! =)

    2. There's a curse against Columbus...

    3. East

    4. The away for Pens

    5. Vinny Lecavalier

    6. He'll be in Lake Karachay where he belongs

    7. I can only hope within the next 45 days

    8. No, but a friend of mine could be Mike Green's identical twin

    9. We'll just need a good offensive defenseman to fill in for him on the Power Play

    10. Probably not, but I would laugh if he did =)

  10. -1=Show my immediate family members.

-2=Feel bad for Columbus don't you?

-3=West, to see him play in St. Louis.

-4=I've always preferred White, but then realized, that it's cool I guess to represent your home colors.

    -5=Doug Weight

-6=Simon will be on Celebrity Wrestling with Hulk Hogan

-7=What glitch is there? Besides horrific lame questions by dopes.

-8=Yeah, Eric Lindros, but then realized it was a poster in my room.

-9=Yes, he's a big part of what was a caliber team when in Finals, now they lost all the major bread n' butter pieces that made the Penguins a true team.

-10=No, Conklin busted his rear to keep the Penguins in the playoff hunt, in middle of season when Fleury was out with injury, even though Malkin helped offensively, it means nothing without solid goaltending, & Ty Conklin proved that.

  11. 1. If I won the Stanley Cup for a day I would go down to the beach fill it up with sand and make a sand castle out of it haha.

    2. I think that there is more to this story about Stefan and I am sure as the weeks go on we will find out more and especially around the time the season starts.

    3. I would rather see Mats out west mainly so I dont have to hear the comentators in the city he decides to sign in constantly talking about Mats Sundin this and Mats Sundin that ( unless he stays in Toronto)

4.I prefer my teams home jerseys. Me and white don't mix

5.Recently the most generous NHL player that I can think of is Vinny Lacavier(sp) didnt he recently donate 1 million dollars to a hospital in Florida.

6.I dont think that he will do either. He might be a car sales man though

    7. I hope that Yahoo fixes the glitches by the time the season starts

    8. Ha Funny you should mention that you thought you saw Staal in a car because late in April I really did see Patrick Kaleta in his car he was behind me leaving a Plaza. I knew it was him because he is the only one in the area that has the kind of vehicle that he does. (well color)

    9. I think Ryan Whitney out for 3-5 months will effect them in the beginning maybe for the first 5-10 games no they wont loose them all but they will have a tough time adjusting to being with out him

    10. No, Conklin was hired to be the backup and I think Howard probably needs at least one more year which is again why they brought in Conks
