  1. depends where you're going.

If your going Queenstown/Wanaka region - they are the tourist hot spots in the south island.

Christchurch - just a big city.

Marlborough - wine tasting - well known wine region.

    Wellington - bit city

Auckland - the biggest city - lots to do.

Rotorua - tourist attraction...but unsure why

  2. May also, it is either winter, or becoming winter, so the weather wont be on your side much....sit in a bar & get pissed..lol

  3. I only know parts of the North Island.

    Taupo - the largest lake.

Rotorua - The mud pools and the Sulphur in the air.

Waitakere City - Go to the Arataki Centre in the Waitakere Ranges.

Napier - Is so beautiful and had the largest Earthquake in New Zealand, reminds me a bit like the Gold Coast. Just a bit tamer.

Auckland City - To see the Harbour, Sky tower and the largest city.  And the Theme Park in Auckland (that I can recall is "Rainbow's End"!

Wellington - The Capital of New Zealand.

All that I know about the South Island is that, its beautifully covered in snow, so plenty of Skiing and that I have heard it is like look at England when it comes to the country towns or driving from coast to Coast!

Hope that you get what you are looking for!

    dunedin... awesome city..

queenstown/wanaka.. real touristy areas, so quite expensive, but a really cool place to visit.

hope tht gives u a few ideas

  5. Well there is plenty to do in New Zealand!! I would recomend the South Island more than the North though.

Hanmer Springs- Hot-Pools, Bunjee Jumping etc.

    Mount Hutt- Skiing, Snowboarding

    Christchurch- Antartic Centre, Orana Park

    Dunedin- Larnach Castle, Chocolate Factory

    Queenstown- Plenty of outdoor activies

    Mount Cook- Scenic Walks

Grey Mouth- Theres some old fashioned gold mining place ( cant remember the name)

There are many more but you would be able to research on the internet if you were looking for anything inparticular!!
