  1. Layers! I live in Brisbane and go to Melbourne every winter and that's what I take. Layers is best as their houses and shops are all heated and if you wear anything too heavy, you get too hot when you go inside. Not enough layers, and you'll freeze outside.

So it's jeans or pants; something to go under them if it's windy (socks and tights); long sleeve shirts and tops; a sweater or two and a decent jacket. You'll probably also need an umbrella and gloves too.

It's a great place! Enjoy your weekend.

  2. at night it can be chilly (around 8°C).

During the day, if it's sunny a shirt is fine.

If it is cloudy you definitely need a jumper.

And if it rains well ... you can stay under my umbrella ella ella .. kidding. But you definitely need a coat and an umbrella.

I know it does not help a lot, but weather in Melbourne is really unpredictable.

Anyway, considering you are coming from the warm Gold Coast you will feel the cold.

    jumper and coat!

    cheers

  3. Yep -its cold and windy -I'm visiting now from Sydney, ooh, the wind is cold here and it stays cold all day rather than warms up at lunchtime like Sydney and Brisbane do.

Anyway, windbreak, jumpers and dont forget a t-shirt for the 5 monutes that its warm!

Have a great time, its a great place to visit.
