  1. The a-bomb but the Japanese in particular were working on bio weapons and even tested them on humans in experiments.  Had they ever used them in anything other then controlled experiments these weapons may well have been the deadliest.

PS the concentration camp weapons ie mainly gas were not the most dangerous by any means as they fad to be used in a controlled confined setting.

  2. The atomic bomb is the most deadly, though its limited use on two civilian targets means it doesn't get the prize as "most people killed". I suspect that the machine gun takes the honor there. Used by all sides of the war throughout the entire time, a single machine gun allowed one or two men to put out the same amount of fire as two or three dozen riflemen. Machine gun nests were a constant source of fear and frustration for soldiers trying to advance. Especially during battles involving mass troop movement forward, machine guns could decimate troops. I am not aware of actual numbers slain, or even if there is such a statistic available, but given their prevelence, it seems logical. And if I had to vote on a single type of machinegun, I suspect that the MG-34 used by the Germans would take the award. Used since the beginning of the war, it remained in service throughout. Given the casualties inflicted on the Eastern Front against the Soviets, it is logical to suspect that the machine guns were a major player in those casualties.

  3. That depends on how you look at it, the incendiary bombs killed more people than the atomic bomb but one a-bomb did much more damage and killed more people than on incendiary bomb.

  4. The atomic bombs dropped on Japan.

  5. Per unit? Little boy, the atomic bomb thrown over Hiroshima, killed about 140,000. It's by far the most deadly weapon used in WWII. Fat man, the other bomb thrown over Nagasaki, killed about 80,000. Fat man was bigger than Little Boy but the density of population in Hiroshima was higher than in Nagasaki.

  7. Without saying the obvious one (Atomic Bomb) it must be the German MG-42, it was a weapon that allied soldiers dreaded the sound of, its rate of fire and quick change of barrel and ammunition saw it unrivaled by no other machine gun in ww2, the toll it took on troops on Omaha beach and some of the battles on the Eastern front espically was staggering, quite simply there was no other like it.

  8. I would say the use of the Atomic Bomb on Japan. The bombing of Hiroshima  with 1 bomb killed over 120,000 instantly and 2 days later the bombing of Nagasaki with a

second bomb  killed 80,000. This does not of course count the thousands who died from radiation exposure or those who later died from cancer which came about as a result of ling term radiation exposure.

       Hope that helps
