Question:

A Writing rut.......?

I was reviewing a piece of writing of mine tonight, and I seem to be in a rut. I noticed all of my sentences and paragraphs have the same rhythm, the same order, the same arrangement. Have you noticed this type of rut in your own writing, and how did you fix it?

  1. Start with the end in mind; move in that direction.

Just write it, flush it out later, and by that I mean,

consider what the story is and remove everything

    that isn't the story.

    Good luck.

  2. I think Bobby01987's answer works the best!!!

  3. Keep the idea in mind and start over. It will come our different.

  4. I had the same problem!! I joined a free writing site called http://chapteread.com

They have great features and wroth checking out!! The writers on there were able to give me helpful feedback and I got back on track. It's worth the try!! I'm happy I did it.

  5. Read the story, then write it again from memory. Then look it over with a thesaurus.  If it's still bad, try putting the first half of the sentence at the end of the sentence.
