I have horrible acne. It started off with just on my forehead, but then it started to spread around on my cheeks, my upper lip, and my chin. and also my whole entire forehead. i have been trying many different products. i have not tried proactive though because there is no place in this town that has a proactive shop nearby.

i have tried many things already. but does anyone know anything that could actually work or an easy homecare remedy thing.

my skin can be very random sometimes. some days it can be completely oily...and other days it can be really dried out. depending on the product sometimes i guess too. so any treatment that worked for you guys?

  2. I've had acne for about 9 years... It's so horrible so believe me, I know what ur going threw. I've tried just about everything, & I mean everything. I actually tried proactive twice, & both time's it really did nothing..but everyone's skin is different. Murad seemed to work for awhile, but not so great.. Just recently, I tried Acne-Free Sevre Acne spot treatment..which is 10% benzoyl peroxide.  I used used the kit from acne-free last summer & it worked really well.. But the products they came out with for sevre acne is great.. Now, it might be different for everyone, but I know that dealing with acne is h**l! but give Acne-fre a shot.. & also stay healthy & drink lots of water... Best of luck!

  3. GO TO YOUR DERMATOLOGIST.

Ask them about Accutane and if it is worth considering.

If they recommend it to you, you will be EXTREMELY happy with your results.

It's an amazing product that will help significantly.

    Good luck!!

By the way, here is the site:)

  4. Product hopping is part of your problem.  Most likely you are using products whose active ingredients are alcohols and peroxides.  These totally dry the skin.  When you stop using them the oils come back with a vengeance bring more blemishes.

Your best bet is to try a product that is going to heal your skin from the inside out not just dry it out.  From the inside out will in the long run be more effective but not as fast in its results.  I recommend Arbonne Clear Advantage.  This system uses the same active ingredient as Proactive.  It is also comparable in price.  This system comes with an internal nutrition support to help aid the skin in its recovery.  However because it is healing from the inside out you may get worse before you get better as your skin purges itself.  So be prepared, stay with it and don't pick at it!!  You wll see a dramatic improvement in about 4 weeks but the skin will peak in its purging at about 2-3 weeks into it so be prepared.  The Arbonne products are not only effective they are pure, safe, and beneficial.  That is rare in the US skin care industry.  There are enough products out there that don't work.  I wouldn't waste my time or yours writing about this if I wasn't confident this would help.

I have become a bit of a skin geek due to my sons severe eczema and have learned more then I ever wanted to know about skin care products and skin function.  For more information on his journey and how Arbonne's products and the difference in their products have made in his life visit www.babysoft.myarbonne.com

Hope this helps.  Also, there is a link within the website to purchase this system for yourself and have it delivered straight to your door.  Arbonne offers a 45 day money back guarantee however I'd be surprised if you need to use it.

  5. Beware of using any acne products unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor.  People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne.  Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face.  Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne.  If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it.

Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little.  Often fewer products are better.  People often make their acne much worse by using too many products.  There really is no quick fix for acne.  Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne.  Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you..

There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing.  Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean.  Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that.  Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue.   Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne.  Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep.  A healthy life style will make a difference.  Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be.

Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer.

  6. dandruff shampoo, i know it sounds crazy but it works...it's made up of salyic acid or zinc, or sulfur...ingredients that reduce oiliness and inflammation. it also leaves ur super soft!

  7. I have just gotten a product called Sebamed. They say it is pretty good. Tea tree like the previous person suggested is a good natural way to get rid of them.

If you aren't already on the oral contraceptive - that may be a way to normalise your hormones and settle your skin. Ask your doctor about it.
