A&A partnership confirm Glory Awaits not for sale – Horseracing news
The A&A partnership have confirmed that their young challenger Glory Awaits is not for sale and will take part in the Royal Ascot.
According to trainer Kevin Ryan, “There has been quite a lot of interest in him since the 2,000 Guineas, but the owners are keen to race him and he is not for sale. He's been fine since Newmarket, where he ran a cracking race. He'll go straight to Royal
Ascot now for the St James's Palace Stakes. I couldn't be happier with him.”
Although the three-year-old colt does not have an impressive record, he seems to be headed in the right direction at the moment, especially after his performance in his most recent outing at Newmarket.
Glory Awaits was one of the least favourites to deliver a strong result in that race and was priced 150 to 1, which clearly showed that the bookies did not have much confidence in his abilities and the punters were also not attracted towards him.
Despite that, the Irish runner came out with a positive approach and achieved a magnificent result overall. He was unable to win the race, but secured the runner up spot, which was quite an impressive feat in the presence of some terrific stallions like
Van Der Neer and Tornado.
Out of all the runners, Glory Awaits was the only one who challenged race favourite Dawn Approach for the top spot. However, the latter of the two runners proved to be unmatchable in the end and succeeded by five lengths.
Since that outing, Glory Awaits has not been seen in action, as he has been working hard with his trainer. It is believed that he was wearing some headgear, which aided him in giving a strong result.
Ryan admitted that his challenger was wearing first-time blinkers and added, “We put them on him just to help his concentration more than anything else. It would be hard to take them off him now.”
Things have been working really nicely for Glory Awaits this season and his owners will be hoping that the positive trend continues. If he finishes second or third in the Royal Ascot, it will be a great achievement for him and his team.
