  1. Use the loop rule. For a batter, you add the emf to the internal resistance X the current. For the loop rule, use Ohm's law:

    V = RI

    So you have a 60 ohm load with 101 mA flowing through it, so the voltage is:

    V = (60) X (101 x 10^-3) = 6.06 V

    So your equation is

    - EMF + i * r + V = 0

    where i = 101 mA and EMF = 10.7 V. So solve for r to get your answer.

    Be sure to draw a circuit diagram to get your signs right. Look in your textbook to see how to do this. I could have a sign error on one of the terms.
