  1. Well, i remembered that when i had my first Male Beta and was introduced to a female they got along fine for about 3 months. But then my female fought my male and not only did he die of old age the female fought till he was just about dead. So i wouldn't recommend on getting one. Although, if you get a bigger tank, beta fish get along with quite a big selection of fish, so it is possible to put them with other fish. Just as long as it's not their own species and if the fish doesn't have long fins.

Hope this helped answer your question! Good luck =]

  2. Well if you put a male and a female together...you'll have fry...in a small tank of that size its best to let him be the only one. He may be too territorial to allow anyone in his tank. Upgrade to at least 5-10 gallon and then you will be able to add a female.

  3. If you put a male betta and a female betta together they should get along.

  4. No.

First it would be overcrowded, as 2.5 gallons is the minimum for one betta.

Next, bettas do not get along with each other (hence the name Siamese Fighting Fish) though they do get along with a number of other comunity fish.

Check this compatibility chart before adding anyone to a tank:

    Good luck :)

  5. A 2.5 is not really even big enough for one betta and you should have a heater unless your room is always 80F.  That small of a tank will not hold a cycle so the filter is pretty much a decoration.  You'll still need to do a total clean out about every 3 days.

You cannot put a male and female betta together except for a short period for breeding after conditioning the fish.  They will fight to the death.

  6. Nope, the male will kill the female. You can't get anything else unless you get a small heater, or heat your room to 76 degrees.

  7. Sorry but the only way they would get along is if u had like 4 or more females and they were in a larger tank.   Iv got kuli loaches in with my Betta and 6 neon tetras.

Most corydora go well with these fish aswell

  8. Beta fish are extremely aggressive, and would most likely fight until one of them was dead. They really should not be put in a tank with any other fish.
