A big weekend for Fernando Torres, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United
The upcoming weekend in the Premier League is going to be a massive one at both ends of the table. At the top there is the title decider taking place between Manchester United and Chelsea while at the foot of the table teams are trying
their best to ensure survival in the League.
West Ham surely cannot afford any more dropped points or losses and defeats for either Blackpool, Wigan Athletic or Wolverhampton Wanderers could spell doomsday for the clubs.
Here are a few teams and players for which the weekend will be of paramount importance:

It was widely believed that a goal for Torres would calm the anxiety the striker was going through and the floodgates would open for him, but all such claims were quashed against Spurs where the striker, for yet another time this season,
failed to score.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 bought Torres for a Premier League record fee of 50 million pounds and for exactly an occasion like this; a title deciding game against Manchester United, a team that has dominated the Premier League era. So if selected (which
is by no means guaranteed) the Spaniard must step up to the plate.

Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti will be facing the dilemma of his life in terms of his team selection against Manchester United on Sunday. He can either choose to play Roman Abramovic’s 50-million-pound plaything and risk the title, or he can choose
to play his own team and risk the wrath of the owner, but in the process, pull off the most amazing of title wins that may persuade the Russian to keep him at the helm for yet another season. This is exactly why the managers in the world of football get those
big bucks, but for Carlo he has to earn them.

Tottenham Hotspur
The problem with one season of Champions League is that once you have had one you can’t settle for anything less.
Same is the case with Tottenham, after their heroics in the continental competition they just cannot believe they will not be playing in Europe next season.
As things stand, Manchester City have a strangle hold of the coveted 4th spot in the league while Spurs are 3 points behind them and only have an outside chance of making it into Europe. Both teams are desperate to be playing
in the UEFA Champions League next season and the runners-up consolation place in the Europa League for the fifth place team will just not be good enough for either.
Tottenham will surely have a shot at their aim with a game against City on Tuesday and one can say the winner of that match will surely be in pole position for qualification for Europe next season.

West Ham United and Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385
One more defeat for West Ham and they can bid farewell to top flight English football. Their game against Blackburn at the weekend will be an absolute must-win for the Hammers.
Hammers are in a really desperate situation to keep their Premier League status intact and although Fulham conjured a similar escape a few years ago from a very similar position, those kind of miracles only rarely happen in football.
Only once has a team at the foot of the table at Christmas ever been able to survive the drop, and if Hammers are to repeat what West Brom did a couple of years ago, they surely will have to turn up with a performance of their lives
at the weekend.
