Question:

A bike seat question?

I have a Diamondback Insight 3 bike, with a Devo Thinline seat (picture at http://www.bfw.org/events/Images/Saris/gala%20auction%20item%20photos%202006/WTB%20Thinline%20seat.JPG ). Now, the seat is not uncomfortable for me, at all. But when I ride longer distances, my toes begin to tingle, as in the beginning stages of going numb, as if I was sitting on them for a while. Is this the seat, or something else? Thanks.

  1. I SAW THE SEAT NOT COMFORTABLE?BUT YOUR QUESTION SHOWS " NOT UNCOMFORTABLE" REALLY MEANS " COMFORTABLE"

    OK?

  2. Because your arms are to far from your body!

  3. I doubt it's the seat.

If your seat is impinging on your Sciatic nerves (the main nerve trunks that runs through your buttocks and thighs on its way to innervate your legs and feet), you would have gotten numb thighs way long before you get numb feet.

Whatever is causing your toes to go numb is localized down there--  Perhaps it's your shoe fit, or maybe the way you are pedaling if you are not using clip-ins.
