All day long these days it is ramming itself into my back window. I think it is seeing its reflection and attacking it or something. Is there a fix for this problem as their is a loud whacking and extra bird p**p on the back porch.

  1. put a sheet over the window not covering the whole thing but just the part he is runnunig into or u can catch it and take it to the vet to c if there is something wrong with it

  2. Well, if you don't want to bring a BB gun into the picture then I suggest looking through some magazines for pictures of cats.  Put a big one on the back window and see how fast birdie poops itself and flies off.

Then again, the bird could be possessed by Satan and is (at this very moment) signaling it's bird friends to give you a real "birds" Hitchcock experience...if that's the case, then you're just screwed.

  3. Let it out! Oh. It probably is out already, huh? Maybe you could let it in? Not very helpful i know.

  4. Get window decals from the dollar store and put them on the window.  They'll interfere with the reflection the bird is seeing.

It's also possible that the light during that time of day makes it look like your window is just more trees for him to fly toward.  Decals will help with that too.

  5. Either put masking tape on the window or hang something outside the window like a wind chime.  The bird probably sees his reflection and is trying to prevent the "other bird" from entering his territory.

  6. get his wings trimmed so he can't fly that should stop it

  7. Stick a picture of a cat on that window.  Or hang an old CD on the outside so that when it shines and spins it'll scare the bird away.  Birds are afraid of things that are shiny and moving.  Or, hire a troll from here, that's the best.

  8. try putting decals on the windows... if its the reflection the decals should stop the bird...

another explination is that the bird may feel threatened by its own flection and think its an oncoming bird and its trying to chase it away... ( may have a nest near buy)

either way you should stop the bird before he kils himself.. i'm always on my college campus and it happens all the time... the school decided to add decals to help the birds stop hitting the wondows...

    ( many die this way)

you can also try putting a fake decoy bird near the window or porch something bigger than the birds hitting the window... that may scare them away from hitting the wnindows...

  9. open the window,.

  10. Put a few decals on the window so the bird sees them. I have a bunch of Jimmy Buffet's Cheesburger in Paradise on  my french doors because I had the same problem.

Otherwise, Open the window and invite him in. Get a cage and keep him there or take him for a ride and give him a new home.

  11. Decals in your window will be helpful. An american flag or those seasonal decals you press on. Are there curtains in your window? If not, you may consider. Anything that is destracting enough to give the bird better perception.

  12. Had this same problem. It thinks it can fly through your window. And sometimes during mating season they will fight with their reflection forever it seems. The best thing to do is get decals for your window. They have very nice inexpensive white frosted ones mad especially for this problem in bird supplies stores. I get mine from Duncraft. They work wonderfully. Or hang towel, curtain, masking tape. Anything that lets the bird know they canot fly through.

  13. Hang a sun catcher in the window and the birds will lose interest. that's what I did with my breakfast nook window and now the birds are no longer dive bombing it.  One poor small bird smashed so hard that he ended up dead in the yard and I had to keep the cat from devouring it.  Yes our cat is a barbarian at times.

  14. I hate to say but sling shot it

  15. Try putting something in the window. A picture or something. If that doesn't work, maybe tape up something on the outside of the window so his reflection won't appear anymore. It should only have to be for a little while. He will either forget about his reflection or his season there will end, depending on the bird.

(I hope this was a serious question, because I answered it as such. But it could have easily been humor. 50/50 shot with you Sir.)
