whats a good present for a 12 year old who likes to draw that would be awesome to have but is under lets say 20 dollars

Mabey an OK art kit. But that would probably Be a little over $20.. but it's somebody's birthday so I think you should be generous.

Try a Pro-sketching set.  THey only cost a little over $20 but it would make the kid feel pretty adult + allow her to spread out artistically.

What about a really nice bound journal that doubles as a sketch book.  I know Barnes and Noble has them at a reasonable $.

A lap desk has a pillow on one side and a hard surface to draw on or eat off of.  My daughter got one from WalMart for about $15.  Great to sit in a comfy chair or couch and do art work.
