  1. 40 miles divided by 20 minutes equals 2 miles divided by minutes.  You'd like to have miles divided by hours instead, right?  Miles per hour?

    Well, there are 60 minutes in an hour.  If you multiply by 1, you get the same answer.   60 minutes divided by 1 hour is still 1, and you can multiply by that and not mess up the answer.

    2 miles/minute times 60 minutes/hour  is 120 miles/hour.  The minutes/minutes in the units cancel out.

  2. Two miles a minute

    40 divided by 20 = 2 miles a minute

    2 multiplied by 60 = 120 mph

    Hope he gets caught he is a menace

    and in fact at times he will be going a heck of a lot faster the 120MPH

  3. 60mph=1 mile per minute..40 miles =40 minutes

    120=2mile per minute...40 miles=20 minutes

  4. All the workings above are obviously right, but is this the guy who caught a 10lb minnow. He would have to live and work on the hard shoulder and do 0-60 mph in 1/2 second.
