A book . . . please help??

Question

I read a this book when i was little ( around 6 or 7 ) I can remember a little about the story but not the name of the book. Can someone help me please?

what i remember about the book is . . .

there is a princess she is locked in a tower she looks like her mother, who is dead, bleach blond hair and very light skin.

she hides behind the door when her dinner is brought up to her and escapes from the tower, in the woods she meets a old man who helps her, he dyes her skin and her hair so no one will recognize her. In the end the old turns out to be a relative to her. and he is not all that old. There is a boy with the man, but I don’t remember his name.

can anyone tell me what this book is called???
