  1. Absolutly, If you dont have any heart and conditioning you wont go far enough in the sport to gain any of the other skills.

No Skill + No Training +Heart and Conditioning = LOSS

Little Skill + Training + Heart and Conditioning = 50/50 chance

Alot of Skill + Alot of training + alot of Heart + alot of conditioning + a stuirdy chin + size + never aging = unbeatable.

Heart is in every boxer you laces up gloves and steps in the ring with an opponant, some have more heart then others, and some have heart that transends their physcial body like a Gatti, Ward, Ali, Chavez,Holyfield.

    Agree

  2. Great question sir and great answer and thumbs up to ACEMAN.

  3. Agree.  Thumbs up to ACEMAN great answer as always.

  4. I would agree if by heart condition you mean endurance. the longer you athletic endurance is the better the fighter you will be. this is why it is so important to run when you train for boxing.

  5. Conditioning will win or lose 80-90 percent of your fights but if you don't have heart to take a few punches you're not going to be around long and if you don't have good technique your punches aren't going to be as hard or quick and you'll open yourself up.

  6. Agree,

    1. If a fighter doesn't have the heart to compete and give it his all then he is only fooling those around him. Heart can bring u from the brink of defeat and there is endless accounts of fighters who suffer knockdowns, cuts, and sometimes frightfull beatings to come back and win. Fighters with no heart are lazy in training and when they get into the ring and start getting pounded fold like a house of cards, or just simply quit.

Examples of heart, Marciano fighting with his nose split in half, Ali fighting with a broken jaw, Meldrick Taylor fighting with a disfigured face against Chavez, Marquez fighting with a cut that looked like a fishes mouth, and there is hundreds more.

    2. Condition is of the upmost importance. With heart comes great conditioning. Some fighters in the past have been reknowned for their terrifying training regimine that is almost military in style. A fighter in peak condition will almost always beat a out of shape or uninterested opponent. And when fights were 15 rounds conditioning was very important. Heart and Stamina go hand in hand.

Prime examples, Marciano, Ali, Holmes, Pryor, Chavez, Pavlik last year. The list is endless of fighters whose condition snatched victory from the mouth of defeat.

    3. Technique is very underrated. A smooth boxer doesn't want to get into a brawl with a big puncher and is wise to stick to his game plan of jabbing, crossing and moving. A brawler knows one way, to come forward weaving and bobbing while poking a jab here and there followed by body shots, uppercuts. and hooks to the head.

Prime examples were Leonard - Hagler. Sugar Ray boxed and moved while Hagler stalked looking for the big punch to end it. Leonard won a dec. Hagler - Hearns. ''The Hitman'' threw his gameplan out the window and went at Hagler. Hearns was kayoed.

A great fighter is always remembered for having beat the best of his time and to do that Heart, Condition and Technique are very very important.

And in short if u intend on giving it to an opponent expect the same in return, without one of those three a fighter wont go far.

  7. That is true to some degree, but if your just out-skilled and out-classed by your opponent you will end up losing.
