A brief review of Bryan Brothers’ 2010 performances

Robert Charles Bryan as well as Michael Carl Bryan are professional tennis players from the United States of America. They are commonly known as the Bryan Brothers and are a very famous doubles pair in the world of tennis. Back in 2005 and 2006, the twin brothers registered their name in the history by setting a record after contesting in a total of seven major doubles final in a row, three of which they triumphed. During the month of February this season, they registered their record 600th match victory by knocking down Ryan Harrison and Taylor Dent in the semi final battle of the Delray Beach ATP 250 championship.
The pair together has so far captured a total of sixty two tour trophies, exceeding the Woodies. As far as their major victories are concerned, they have won at the French Open championship back in 2003, the United States Open tournament back in 2005 as well as in 2008, the Australian Open competition in 2006, 2007, 2009 as well as 2010 and the grass court Grand Slam event back in 2006. They have also succeeded at the Tennis Master Cup Doubles championship on three occasions; 2003, 2004 as well as 2009. The Bryan brothers won a bronze medal at the Olympics Games held in Beijing back in 2008. Moreover, the doubles tennis pair from the United States of America also succeeded in the Davis Cup competition along with James Blake as well as Andy Roddick back in 2007.
As far as their 2010 performances are concerned, the Bryans started off the season by contesting at the Heineken Open competition. However, they could not advance past the round number one of the championship. They, afterwards, participated at the hard court Australian Open tournament and successfully managed to win the trophy after hammering down Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor in the final battle and as a result received the fourth Australian Open trophy of their doubles career. Moving on at the Delray Beach, the pair once again defended their trophy through their excellent display of tennis.
At the Master series, the Bryans went on to capture the title both in Rome as well as in Madrid. They knocked down Sam Querrey and John Isner in Rome and Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor in their clashes in Madrid. This concluded their ATP World Tour Masters thousand title drought after a period of two years. They exceeded the Woodies at the Farmers Classic tennis tournament 2010 to register their name in the history with a total of sixty two doubles trophies.
As far as the clay court French Open championship is concerned, the Bryans appeared as first seeded pair of the tournament. However, sadly Mike and Bob Bryan faced an early departure after falling down to Bruno Soares and Marcelo in round number two of the tournament. After the French Open, they did not participate in either of the tune up events prior to the grass court Grand Slam competition. At the all England Club this season, the Bryan brothers reached the quarterfinal round of the event where they were knocked down by d**k Norman and Wesley Moodie.
Talking about their summer hard court season, both of them together captured their 62nd career title in the city of Loss Angeles, where they successfully defended their title. The American pair made their way into the final round and thus registered their name as the first ever pair in the open era to reach hundred doubles finals.
The win exceeded the Woodies record of a total of sixty one victories as a pair. Their next aim is definitely to break the all time record of a total of seventy nine set by Martina Navratilova along with Pam Shriver. So, we wish them a very best of luck for that!
