A broken fear.?

A few months back i lost all me control and took my anger out on a steel locker. needless to say I got a boxers fracture. my hand has healed with no visable problems. however, being a karate student i need to punche things. but now when i punch, my hand feels weak. my hand was in a caste for six weeks plus. how can i retrain my hand to its former power?

  1. It will take up to a year for the bones to heal and set properly.Lots of knuckle push ups will help in getting your confidence back .


  2. I'm gonna guess you attacked the metal locker with your right hand.  If you used your left, please make the appropriate changes.

    Lay out a small section of newspaper.  Place your hand in the bottom right corner, and rest on corner of your palm.  Using one finger at a time, grip the sheet of paper into a ball.  Start out with only 3-5 sheets for the first week, never exceed ten sheets.  This will build back your hand strength.  also start hitting a heavy bag, lightly at first.  Make sure your wrist is straight and that you have bone alignment with your first two knuckles.  Get used to hitting with, and over time it will be back to normal.  Check with your teacher for more ideas.
