A busy week in Philadelphia for the Phillies

Major League Baseball is going through a remodeling session at the moment. Top tier teams in the National League and the American League are boosting their chances for the future by focusing more on the tenure that lies ahead in 2011. The costs are being
curtailed and the roster is going through a reorganizational stage which is focused deeply on strengthening teams and preparing them for the challenge ahead. The clubs want to shut down their weak links in the game and focus more on the positive outlook that
can guide them to glory.
The challenge may seem tough but the off season at the moment is proving for many to be a blessing in disguise. The top crop teams have an agenda on the table and as time goes by, the challenge of winning a spot in the playoffs can materialize. All clubs
are actively participating in the free agents market at the moment. After the San Francisco Giants clinched the World Series title after 56 years, anything seems possible to teams. Activity is at its peak and the stars in the free zone are on top of the wish
list of every top team out there.
The Philadelphia Phillies are comparatively busy at the moment and the reasons are clear. The coaching staff position left by Davey Lopes had to be filled, which is why Juan Samuel came in to the side. Free agents were scanned are acquired for the Minor
Leagues following a comprehensive player development program. In addition minor league coaching staff vacancies are up for grabs and it seems the ball club will honour the tasks to Mickey Morandini and Ryne Sandberg.
The Phillies are in need of a bullpen member and two of the likely people to join that department are none other than Pedro Feliciano and Brian Fuentes.
Rubin Amaro Jr., the Phillies’ General Manager, is also under fire these days from sources claiming the team can’t sign on Jayson Werth. Recently, he replied by saying, "It didn't come from anybody I know. It's not something I authorized. It didn't come
from my mouth. That's not how I feel about it, and I'm the GM as far as I know. We have not closed the doors."
He further said, "We're not going to have these things in any deal we may or may not be able to do ... preclude us from doing some other things we might have to do."
