A/c Adapter on laptop Dell not working properly?

Question

I have had my Dell inspiron 1521 since December 2007 (8 months) it has been working fine up until about 2 weeks ago. i did sort of drop it on the floor, but it seemed to work fine, but now the battery isnt charging. it says that its plugged in, not charging.

i need it to charge like how it was .... any help? is it the adapter, or something else? Thanks in advance :-)

same happened to me, i have to phsically force the charger in to charge. you would have to buy a new one,im afraid,i cjust cant be bothered to

you should still be under warranty from dell, contact dell support and they will either arrange for the adapter to be repaired or replace the adapter for you, free of charge.

For issues related to plugged in not charging we may have to do a BIOS update from www.support.dell.com. If that does not work out then the battery needs replacement. Remember has a limited warranty of one year and its good that its only 8 months old. Call Tech Support for more assistance
