I'm very good in sales. I have an associates degree not a bachelors, will that be a problem? I make pretty good money now and support my family. Where do I start?

  1. Jeanmarie:

    1.  How do you know you're good at sales?  Have you done it before and switched careers to become a Dental Hygienist?

    2.  Carpal tunnel syndrome or just burnt-out?

    3.  NEVER attempt to pursue a career in Pharmaceutical Sales.  From your response to someone's question, it sounds like you HATE the profession and the pharmaceutical industry.  DENTAL SALES is no different.  Also, if you think your hand hurts now, wait until your feet hurt in sales!

  2. OPTION 1: If you could get a Bachelors you could land a job in pharmaceutical sales or corporate sales with your background. Pharm. reps make 100k plus per year. It would be well worth it to get your bachelors for that kind of salary. A bachelors will open doors to higher paying sales jobs, but keep in mind having a BA you are not guranteed a career either. Competition is high.

OPTION 2: Since you have an associates degree you are probably arent going to get the "corporate sales" jobs since many require a bachelors. However with an associates you could land a sales career in retail such as department stores, auto sales, and hotel sales. Hotel sales is a fun job and you can make decent money. You could be in conference sales or become wedding planner for a upscale hotel and  make in the 50-80k range. Check into it.

    Hope this helps...

  3. Start by seeing a doctor for that hand and then you might check some job listings like hot jobs or some other web sites. Maybe you can work at a store thats dealing with sales
