They are over 3 weeks old now, and 1 died yesterday. Their eyes have white stuff draining from them, I bought some kitten milk to make sure they are eating enough. I can't afford to take them to a vet, what can I do to help them? I hate seeing them die.

  1. what you can do is see if you can get some antibiotics for cats. that is common for non-vacsinated kittens. if you don't do anything about it now their eyes might close up and they can die. or they are probably sick so give them some antiabiotics

  2. They need some kind of antibiotic, that's puss coming out of their eyes

they need to be checked out. Maybe take them to a shelter and have them checked out.

  3. i think its a virus unfortunately, not much you can do.

its similar to distemper in dogs, but this is a cats disease.

older cats survive it, kittens will die.

if you have any other cats, don't let them near the sick kittens.

    Its is very contagious.

  4. get them and the mom inside and clean their eyes. they have an infection because their eyes are matted shut. their eyes start opening around 7 to 10 days and if they get eye gunk and the eyes are always gunked shut they will get an infection. use sterile eye wash and a cotton ball or get a warm damp wash cloth and hold it over the eyes until they can open and drain. if you don't then they can lose their eyes to infection. you need to take them to a vet as it sounds like there could be more wrong with them. explain to the vet that you can't afford it and try to work out a payment arrangement.

if all else fails then call a no kill shelter or a rescue group near you and have them come get all of them. they will get the medical help that they so desperately need and the mom will be spayed to prevent any more sickly homeless kittens from coming in to the world.

  5. They could have died from a disease the mother or father had and it gave it to the kittens, what I would do is to bring them inside make them feel snug but not so that they are sweating, I would also buy a few baby bottles fill it with warm milk but not to hot like room temperature and I would feed them in bottles only if the mom isn't feeding them as much milk as they need!!!! Glad I could help bye!!!!

  6. it could be a number of things. Maybe the mother is rejecting them for some reason. Are other cats able to get on the back porch?  Because tom cats have a tendency to kill kittens.Or they could just be sick.
